LC1330 Digital Single Point Load Cell
What is a load cell?
A load cell is a transducer that converts the measurement of force into an electrical output that can be quantified.
Most load cells in our product range use internal strain gauges for this purpose. When a force is applied, the strain gauges are compressed or stretched, and their deformation alters the electrical output in proportion to the applied force.
There are many different types of load cells available for a variety of applications.

Load Cell Applications
Load cells are used in many different industries. Some of these applications include:
- Scale Applications: Scales are the most common application for load cells. These can range from kitchen or bathroom scales to industrial scales, hopper scales, conveyor scales, platform scales, motorsport scales, and much more. In most cases, single point load cells are used for these applications.
- Marine Applications: Marine applications require load cells that are suitable for underwater use and are sealed. Load cells are used for towing, anchor force measurement, tension on fishing lines in boats and nets, various types of shipboard cranes, and force measurement on dams.

- Aerospace Applications: Load cells are commonly used in aerospace for various testing and monitoring purposes, including pre-flight fatigue testing, aerodynamic force monitoring, flight data recording, and fuel load testing.
- On-Vehicle Weighing: On-vehicle weighing involves measuring a vehicle’s load while it is already on the scale. Vehicles that may require this include:
- Tippers
- Articulated trucks
- Trailer weights
- Axle weights
- Agricultural machinery
- Racing cars
- Other types of heavy vehicles
